Jeep Sign Restoration
On September 16, 2009, I won an ebay auction for a backlit AMC sign that came from Steve Castrucci AMC Jeep in Cincinnati,Ohio.
It was part of a larger sign that had "American Motors" also in a second section. The person I bought this from was passing
the dealership in the late 1980's and saw that they were taking all the AMC signage off the building soon after Chrysler
had bought AMC. It was all laying on the ground waiting to be disposed of. He stopped and asked if he could have the AMC emblem
off the sign and they said yes. He would have taken the whole AMERICAN MOTORS part also but it was too big. He used the sign
over the years to display his dash plaques from car shows.
I plan on carefully removing the dash plaques from the sign. The goal is to have this mounted in a housing to be backlit.
