Sir:

 

In response to your recent request we submit herewith a quotation of $1180.00 each f.o.b. Dearborn, Mich., for 500 Light Reconnaissance and Command Cars (4-wheel drive 2-wheel steer) Conforming to specifications accompanying Invitation 398-41-9, dated July 11, 1940.  It is understood that, along the lines of our discussion with you this morning, this quotation is subject to our reaching a mutual agreement regarding several variations from the above specifications, such as, but not limited to, vehicle weight, body details, etc.

 

The above price is subject to a cash discount of $50.00 per vehicle for payment within 30 days from date of delivery or date of receipt of out voucher.  Vouchers will be submitted for quantities of 50 units, and payment is to be made against these vouchers.

 

Prices quoted do not include any Federal taxes from which exemption is granted, or as to which a credit or refund is provided for, not any tax imposed by a state, county or municipality upon the transaction of this procurement of these materials.  It is understood that the necessary tax exemption certificates will be supplied us to cover.

 

The quotation is open for acceptance for 30 days from this date.

 

We will deliver pilot model within 45 days from date of receipt of official award.  Delivery will be made at the rate of 50 vehicles per week starting 16 weeks after receipt of order; provided, however that due allowance shall be made for time required for test and approval of pilot model.
